Please read these terms carefully before booking lessons with Exclusive Driving Academy

Welcome to Exclusive Driving Academy. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our driving instruction services. By booking a lesson or course with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms & Conditions:

  • "We", "Us", "Our" refers to Exclusive Driving Academy
  • "Student", "You", "Your" refers to the person booking and receiving driving instruction
  • "Lesson" means a single driving instruction session
  • "Course" or "Package" means a pre-paid block of multiple lessons
  • "Instructor" means our qualified driving instructor(s)

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 Payment Terms

Payment must be made according to the following terms:

  • Single Lessons: Payment required before each lesson
  • Courses (10 hours or less): Full payment required before starting the course
  • Courses (more than 10 hours): Payment can be split into 10-hour blocks (e.g., 30-hour course = 3 payments of 450 each)

2.2 Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash (paid directly to instructor)
  • Bank Transfer to our business account

Payment details will be provided upon booking confirmation.

2.3 Pricing

Our standard lesson rate is 47 per hour for both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. This rate applies unless a different rate is agreed in writing or as part of a promotional package.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

?? IMPORTANT: You must provide a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

3.1 Student Cancellations

  • 48+ hours notice: Free cancellation or rescheduling
  • Less than 48 hours notice: Full lesson fee is charged
  • No-show: Full lesson fee is charged

3.2 Instructor Cancellations

If we need to cancel a lesson:

  • We will attempt to provide an alternative instructor where possible
  • For driving test day bookings, we guarantee to provide an alternative instructor
  • If we cannot provide an alternative, the lesson will be rescheduled at no charge to you
  • In cases of instructor illness, emergency, or vehicle breakdown, we will notify you as soon as possible

4. Refund Policy

4.1 Course Package Refunds

We pride ourselves on our honest and fair refund policy:

  • Any unused hours will be refunded at the hourly rate you paid
  • If you decide to quit your course, we will refund all unused lesson hours
  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days of your request
  • Course packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, but we may extend this period at our discretion

4.2 Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 100% Money-Back Guarantee for your first lesson:

  • After completing your very first lesson with us, if you are not satisfied with the service we offer, we will provide a full refund
  • You must request the refund within 48 hours of completing your first lesson
  • This guarantee applies to your first lesson only (introductory offers or full-price lessons)

5. Student Requirements

Before beginning driving lessons, you must:

  • Hold a valid UK provisional driving licence (or full licence for refresher courses)
  • Meet DVSA eyesight requirements (read a number plate from 20 metres)
  • Disclose any medical conditions that may affect your ability to drive
  • Inform us of any disabilities or special needs that may require accommodation
  • Be at least 17 years old (16 for PIP recipients)
  • Not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair your ability to drive safely

?? It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all legal requirements to take driving lessons. We reserve the right to refuse lessons if you do not meet these requirements.

6. Lesson Arrangements

6.1 Lesson Duration

Our standard lesson duration is 90 minutes (1.5 hours). Other durations can be arranged by agreement.

6.2 Pickup & Drop-off Locations

  • We provide pickup and drop-off service within Oxford postcodes OX1-OX4
  • Your pickup location must remain consistent unless prior arrangement is made
  • Occasional changes to pickup location are acceptable with advance notice
  • Lesson time starts when we pick you up and ends when we drop you off (travel time is included in lesson duration)

7. Driving Tests

7.1 Test Booking Responsibility

It is your responsibility to:

  • Book your own theory test
  • Book your own practical driving test
  • Manage all aspects of your test bookings, including cancellations and rescheduling

7.2 Test Day Car Hire

We provide our vehicle for your practical test under the following terms:

  • Cost: 2 hours at standard rate (2 x £47 = £94)
  • Includes: 1-hour warm-up lesson immediately before your test
  • Minimum requirement: You must have completed at least 5 hours of lessons with us before we can provide a vehicle for your test
  • DVSA Cancellations: If DVSA cancels your test, you are still required to pay us for the test day booking. However, you may be able to reclaim costs directly from DVSA

8. Insurance & Liability

8.1 Insurance Coverage

All students are covered by our comprehensive driving instructor insurance during lessons. This includes:

  • Third-party liability coverage
  • Vehicle damage coverage
  • Personal injury coverage

8.2 Incidents & Accidents

In the event of an accident or incident during a lesson, everything is covered by our insurance. You will not be held liable for damage or costs arising from normal driving instruction activities.

9. Student Conduct

9.1 Expected Behavior

We expect all students to:

  • Treat instructors with respect and courtesy
  • Follow all instructor directions for safety
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times
  • Not attend lessons under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance
  • Arrive on time for scheduled lessons

9.2 Unacceptable Behavior

We reserve the right to terminate a lesson immediately and without refund if you:

  • Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Display aggressive, abusive, or threatening behavior
  • Refuse to follow safety instructions
  • Create an unsafe environment
  • Act inappropriately toward the instructor

?? If we terminate a lesson due to student misconduct, the full lesson fee remains payable and no refund will be provided.

10. Marketing & Student Content

10.1 Photos & Testimonials

We may use student photos and testimonials for marketing purposes, subject to the following:

  • We will always ask for your permission before taking photos
  • We will ask for separate permission before publishing photos on our website or social media
  • You may request removal of your photo or testimonial at any time by contacting us
  • Testimonials may be used on our website, Google Business Profile, and marketing materials

10.2 Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Decline to have your photo taken
  • Request removal of your content from our platforms
  • Withdraw consent for use of your image or testimonial

11. Course Package Terms

11.1 Validity Period

Course packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. However, we maintain flexibility and may extend this period at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.

11.2 Pausing & Resuming

You may pause your course package at any time for reasons including:

  • Personal circumstances
  • Illness or medical reasons
  • Travel or work commitments
  • Financial reasons

Simply inform us when you wish to pause or resume your lessons.

11.3 Package Transfers

Course packages are non-transferable to other individuals. The package is registered to the named student only.

12. Complaints & Disputes

12.1 How to Complain

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us:

When you submit a complaint, we will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt within 24 hours
  2. Investigate the matter thoroughly
  3. Provide a resolution or explanation
  4. Take action to prevent recurrence where appropriate

13. Limitation of Liability

While we strive for excellence in all aspects of our service:

  • We cannot guarantee that you will pass your driving test
  • Test results depend on multiple factors including your preparation, practice, and test day performance
  • We are not responsible for DVSA decisions, test cancellations, or test center issues
  • Our liability is limited to the cost of services provided

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

For significant changes, we will attempt to notify existing students via email or during lessons.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
